Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: 25 June 2025 · Effective Date: 25 June 2025
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern the use of our website at tikkora.live and the watch repair and timepiece care services provided by Tikkora, operating from 15, Lorong Maarof, Bangsar, 59000 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia ("we", "us", "our"). By submitting a contact form, visiting our studio, or leaving a watch in our care, you agree to these Terms.
1. Definitions
- "Service" refers to any watch repair, servicing, or restoration work carried out by Tikkora, including Battery, Seal & Strap Refresh, Complete Movement Overhaul, and Collector's Restoration Programme.
- "Client" / "You" means any individual who submits an enquiry, visits our studio, or leaves a watch in our care.
- "Watch" / "Piece" refers to any timepiece left with us for assessment, servicing, or restoration.
- "Agreement" means these Terms together with any written service record or quote issued by us.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By using this website or engaging our services, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, have the legal capacity to enter into this Agreement, and accept these Terms in full. If you are acting on behalf of another party (for example, bringing in a family member's watch), you confirm you have their authority to do so.
3. Description of Services
We offer three primary services:
- Battery, Seal & Strap Refresh (from RM 560): battery replacement, seal inspection, exterior cleaning, and strap fitting.
- Complete Movement Overhaul (from RM 2,280): full teardown, ultrasonic cleaning, lubrication, and regulated reassembly of mechanical watch movements.
- Collector's Restoration Programme (from RM 4,390): a staged, individually planned restoration for antique or sentimental pieces.
Services are carried out at our Bangsar studio. We do not accept watches sent by post. All work is done in-studio; we do not subcontract movement servicing to third parties.
4. Service Estimates and Scope Changes
Quoted prices represent the base fee for each service. If, during the course of a service, we identify work beyond the agreed scope — such as a worn part requiring replacement — we will contact you before proceeding. No additional cost will be incurred without your prior agreement. You may at that point instruct us to proceed, limit the scope, or collect the watch in its current state. We will not charge for work not yet completed if you choose to collect early.
5. Client Responsibilities
- Provide accurate information about the watch and its known history at the point of handover.
- Disclose any known defects, prior repairs, or conditions that may affect our work.
- Provide a valid contact phone number and email address so we can reach you during the service.
- Collect the watch within 30 days of notification that the service is complete. We will make reasonable efforts to contact you before that deadline.
6. Watches Left Beyond Collection Date
If a watch is not collected within 60 days of the completion notification, and we have been unable to contact you, we reserve the right to treat the watch as abandoned under Malaysian law. We will make documented attempts to reach you before taking any such step.
7. Payment
Payment is due in full upon collection of the watch. We accept cash and major bank transfers. Prices are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (RM). We do not store payment card data. For Collector's Restoration Programme work, we may request a deposit before commencing staged work; this will be communicated in writing before any commitment is required.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, images, and design — is owned by or licensed to Tikkora. You may not reproduce, copy, or redistribute any part of it without our written permission. Your use of this website for personal, non-commercial purposes to enquire about or arrange a service is permitted.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
We carry out all services to a reasonable professional standard and with appropriate care for the type of watch. However, we do not warrant any specific outcome, particularly in the case of very old, rare, or heavily worn movements where results cannot be fully anticipated before disassembly. We will inform you honestly of what we find and what is achievable before work begins.
This website is provided on an "as is" basis. We make no warranties about its accuracy or uninterrupted availability.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Malaysian law, our liability for any claim arising from a service is limited to the fee paid for that service. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special losses. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under Malaysian consumer protection legislation.
We carry reasonable professional indemnity for watches in our care. If you have a particularly high-value piece, please discuss this with us at handover so we can agree appropriate arrangements.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Tikkora against any claims, losses, or costs arising from false or misleading information you provided at handover, or from a third party claiming ownership of a watch you brought to us.
12. Termination
Either party may end a service engagement before completion. If you wish to collect your watch before a service is finished, we will return it in its current state and charge only for work already completed. We reserve the right to decline to continue a service if we discover the watch presents risks we cannot manage — in which case we will explain our position and return the piece without charge.
13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising will first be addressed through good-faith discussion between the parties. If unresolved, disputes may be referred to the relevant Tribunal for Consumer Claims Malaysia (Tribunal Tuntutan Pengguna Malaysia) or the courts of Malaysia, which have exclusive jurisdiction.
14. General Provisions
- Entire Agreement: these Terms, together with any written service record, constitute the entire agreement between us for the relevant service.
- Severability: if any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect.
- Waiver: failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
- Assignment: you may not assign your rights under these Terms without our written consent.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any revisions. Continued use of our website or services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify regular clients.
